July 1, 2026 — First Domino 1.0.0 Ships

The App Store approval notification came through.

July 1, 2026, 1:25 PM — First Domino 1.0.0 was live on the App Store.

From the day the idea first appeared on July 24, 2019, to the launch on July 1, 2026. Just under 7 years had passed.

Global from Day One

First Domino was built with a global audience in mind from the start. The One Thing is an internationally recognized book, and productivity apps have naturally low language barriers.

So I added multi-language support before launch. The app ships with Korean and English. Every piece of text in the app automatically switches based on the device's language setting.

Current Reception

Honestly? Quiet so far.

There was some initial traction from people in my network downloading it right after launch, but nothing significant yet. The productivity app market is competitive, and releasing without any marketing makes it hard to be discovered.

There's now a list of things to work on.

What's Next

Updates planned:

  • Home screen widget (see today's one thing at a glance)
  • Lock screen widget
  • Enhanced weekly/monthly review features
  • Notification customization

Android launch:

  • Play Store in-app purchase setup after business registration
  • Complete 12-person 14-day closed testing requirement
  • Android launch with feature parity to iOS

Promotion:

  • Organic exposure through blog posts and social media
  • Targeting The One Thing reader communities
  • Introducing the app in productivity-focused communities

It took 7 years to ship this app. Now the real work begins.
